Environmental Education Update, Spring 2020

From the desk of Hannah Wallace, Environmental Education Coordinator

Happy Spring from the Rio Grande Farm Park! As the seasons change, we’re looking forward to new growth, warmer weather, and longer days.

We hope to help folks enjoy the great outdoors to some extent during these difficult times. In light of COVID-19, direct environmental education projects have been put on hold. The Farm Park is working to develop new, relevant material for at-home learning. The first online resource, Educating From Home, was recently released with hopes of finding new ways to get students outside and excited about nature! This specific resource consists of 10 different activities that are easy to do at home. Each activity has the option for follow up resources and can be adapted for people of all ages.

With some uncertainty for what is ahead, the Farm Park will continue to provide resources for at home, environmental education opportunities.
