Postponed: Poultry-Centered Regenerative Agriculture with the Main Street Project

March 27 - March 28

Due to the current situation regarding the spread of COVID-19, we are postponing this training until the wave passes. We are respecting the need to social distancing, out of the desire to prevent the spread of the virus to our elders and immunocompromised kin.

In the meantime – take this time to rest, reflect, read and write, sew seeds and fiber, and hopefully we come out of this time changed for the better.

The Main Street Project is an organization out of St. Paul, Minnesota. Their work encourages beginning farmers to explore the relations between animals and the land with regeneration in mind.

They’ll be coming to the Farm Park and providing “Agripeneur” training for anyone interested! Their training “provides a supported environment for trainees to build experience in poultry production, operations management, marketing, and finance” with a “triple-bottom line of ecological, economic, and social benefits” in mind.

Join us Friday 3/27 at the San Luis Valley Local Food Coalition (LFC) office before a tour of the Park to discuss poultry infrastructure beginning at 4PM, followed by a shared dinner.
On the 28th, the day will begin with breakfast at 9AM in the LFC office followed by an introduction to the Main Street Project model.
At lunchtime we will head back to the Farm for lunch before going back to the office to finish up the training by 4PM.
