New Farmers Wanted

The Rio Grande Farm Park is proud to announce openings in our Farm Incubator program for the Spring of 2020.  Aspiring farmers are encouraged to secure plots to grow produce for themselves, their families, or to sell commercially. There are two program options: Family Plots and Commercial Plots.


Farmers will receive agricultural and marketing training, as well as have the opportunity to try out farming with support from the Farm Park staff. The Farm Park encourages low-income individuals, young farmers, and veterans to apply.

Garden Plot Applications are available online.  Download the .pdf application, fill it out, and either drop by the Local Foods Coalition at 412 State Street, Alamosa; email  to; or send to PO Box 181, Alamosa, CO 81101.

Printed applications are also available at the Local Foods Coalition (412 State Ave, Alamosa).

Family Garden Plot Application:

Families and individuals are encouraged to apply for  1/8 of an acre plots.  There will be no fee for use of these plots during 2017. However, each household, or his/her designee, will be asked to volunteer to work for a total of six (6) hours on manager-assigned projects at the RGFP.

Anyone who is interested in selling their produce commercial via Alamosa Farmers’ Markets, the Valley Roots Food Hub, or other marketplaces should apply for a Commercial Garden Plot. These plots are rented out in 1/4 acre increments.  Please contact us for price details.
